New Format for Good Morning Idyllwild – Starting Monday April 24th, Good Morning Idyllwild will come out just twice a week – on Monday morning and Friday morning. Monday will include all the information for Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur and Friday’s email will include all the information for Friday/Saturday/Sunday. We hope you enjoy fewer emails in your inbox, but still enjoy having one place to find out what’s happening in town. The manzanita trees & bushes are beginning to flower all over Idyllwild. The white ones bloom first and then the pink will emerge soon. Did you know the flowers are edible? Yup…just pick them off and sprinkle them on a salad for a beautiful touch.

Did you know that in the early 1900’s, the only way to visit Idyllwild was a stage coach ride from Hemet that took 4 1/2 hours one way! The photo below shows the White Special standing out front of the Hemet Hotel (not in existence today) loading passengers for the ride up the mountain to Idyllwild.
And here’s a photo of the “White Special” parked in front of Idyllwild Inn (Called The Bungalow at the time).
